Background: The collaboration between the National Singapore University and Duke University began in the year 2000 and culminated in the creation of the National Singapore University Graduate School on April 14, 2005. The first medical students will be enrolled in 2007. They will be taught by both Singaporan and American physicians. |
Clinical Opportunities: The Medical Center at the National University of Singapore is comparable to modern medical centers in the US. Students will be exposed to patients that have illnesses similar to those seen in patients in the US back in the 1950's such as Rheumatic Heart Disease, as well as diseases such as HIV/AIDS and cigarette induced lung disease. |
Research: Research opportunities abound in Singapore and collaborations between Duke and the National University of Singapore faculty is expected in virtually all areas. |
